　　China news agency, Beijing, May 9 (Reporter Pang Wuji) The Ministry of Land and Resources of China released a message on the 9th, saying that after the landslide occurred in Taining County, Fujian Province, the Geological Disaster Emergency Management Office of the Ministry of Land and Resources urgently issued the Letter on Doing a Good Job in the Prevention of Current Geological Disasters, asking all localities to do a good job in the prevention of geological disasters, especially to prevent secondary geological disasters caused by floods and engineering activities, and to take compulsory avoidance measures when necessary to ensure the safety of people’s lives in the first place.

　　On the same day, led by the Ministry of Land and Resources, the Ministry of Civil Affairs (National Disaster Reduction Committee), the Ministry of Water Resources (National Defense Office), the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission and the State Administration of Work Safety established the the State Council Working Group. 　　The Office of Geological Disaster Emergency Management of the Ministry of Land and Resources pointed out that China has entered the main flood season, and the situation of geological disaster prevention and control is extremely severe due to frequent extreme weather and intensified human engineering activities. All localities should pay close attention to the changes in the scope and intensity of heavy rainfall, and earnestly do a good job in preventing secondary geological disasters caused by floods.
