[Great Rivers Flowing-Report from the Yangtze River Economic Belt] Visiting Zhoushan, the world’s largest single "oil island": the full stock can supply the whole country with oil for 7 days.

Cctv news(Reporter He Chuan Kong Hua) At the intersection of the Yangtze River, Qiantang River and Yongjiang River, there is such a special island in the open sea: it does not produce a drop of oil, but it has the title of the world’s largest single "oil island"; Because it attracts more than 20,000 international ships to stop every year, the island is also known as the "barometer" of the world economy. This is China’s important oil reserve base — — Aoshan Port, Zhoushan, Zhejiang.

Aoshan Island covers an area of 5.46 square kilometers, close to Xiashimen International Waterway and across the sea from Beilun Port in Ningbo. Located at the T-shaped intersection of the coastal north-south route and the Yangtze River, Yongjiang River and Qiantang River, the port area is open and the waterway is straight.

Under the leadership of the staff of the relevant departments of Sinochem Group, "the river flows — — Members of the interview team from the Yangtze River Economic Belt recently entered the core area of Aoshan Port for an interview.

Aoshan Island is connected with the outside world by an island bridge, and it needs to pass through the security gate to enter the oil depot area. The oil depot consists of 55 storage tanks and ancillary equipment, with a maximum capacity of 100,000 cubic meters, a diameter of 80 meters and a height of 23 meters. This capacity is equivalent to filling all 40 50-meter standard swimming pools. Under the condition of full storage capacity, the oil products in the whole reservoir area can be used by the people of the whole country for 7 days.

According to the staff, the crude oil terminal is the core operation area, and the security level is national first-class security. All electronic equipment and motor vehicles are prohibited from entering. In order to eliminate static electricity, staff and journalists need to wear safety helmets first, and then pass through the human static electricity elimination device in turn — — At intervals, press a black sphere with your hand once, and then you can move on after the display light is on.

On the day of the visit, a 10,000-ton tanker on the crude oil terminal was unloading crude oil into the oil depot. Crude oil enters the oil pipeline system through three oil delivery arms on the dock and reaches the oil storage tank. There are four oil boom equipments in the whole terminal, and each oil boom can transport 3,000 cubic meters of crude oil per hour.

According to the staff, there is a red iron tower on the dock, which is the cannon of the crude oil base. It can be seen that there are two gun heads at the top connected to two red and green pipes below. The red pipe is a foam pipe and the green pipe is a water pipe. When an oil tanker fires, the two gun heads can fire at the same time.

Cheng Wentao, deputy director of general manager office, Sinochem Sinotrans Company, told reporters that in the early 1990s, China began to build Aoshan Port and national petroleum reserve base here. During the construction of Aoshan Base, Sinochem Group not only built its own 2.56 million cubic meters storage tanks and supporting docks, but also undertook the operation and management responsibilities of Zhoushan National Petroleum Reserve Base and the construction task of Sinochem Zhoushan Emergency Rescue Base for hazardous chemicals.

After more than 20 years’ development, Aoshan Reservoir Area now has 2.56 million cubic meters of storage tanks, which can pick up, unload and ship 500-375,000 tons of oil tankers, with an annual handling capacity of 41 million tons. It is one of the largest national storage depots in China at present, and two VLCC super-large oil tankers can be parked at the same time depending on natural deep water conditions. At present, there are five oil terminals with 30,000 to 300,000 tons, with an annual throughput of 41 million tons.
