In the past five years, Chenzhou special education has formed an overall school scale of 8 public schools, 1 attached special education class, 2 private special education institutions, 1,407 public students and 248 in-service teachers. In 2015, Chenzhou invested 67.88 million yuan to build a new Chenzhou Special Education Center School in the urban area, which effectively solved the problems of mentally retarded children and adolescents with hearing impairment, visual impairment and other school-age disabilities in the city enjoying preschool education, compulsory education and high school vocational education.

The Department of Enlightenment carries out the curriculum setting around the mode of "teaching students according to their aptitude, tailoring, basic courses+characteristic courses+technical courses+activity courses".
