The Myanmar Propaganda Department said in a statement that the dead in the explosion attack were a volunteer and a member of the security forces, and the injured included two civilians, two firefighters and several members of the security forces. The injured have been sent to a military hospital for treatment, and the search for the attack suspect is underway.
According to Myanmar media reports, recent explosion attacks in Myanmar have occurred from time to time. Zuo Mintun, a spokesman for Myanmar’s military and State Management Committee, said earlier that the army and police are committed to national peace, stability and security, and the people should be vigilant against the situation.
On February 1 this year, Myanmar President Min Sensitive, Senior Minister Aung San Suu Kyi and some senior officials of the National League for Democracy were detained by the military. The Myanmar military then declared a one-year state of emergency, and the state power was handed over to the commander-in-chief of the National Defence Force, Min Anlai. On February 2, the General Command of Myanmar Defence Forces announced the establishment of the National Management Committee, with Min Anlai as the chairman of the Committee.
